Nativity in Calatafimi Segesta

THE PROGRAM

This year the ancient Bethlehem will come to life in the streets of the historical centre of Calatafimi Segesta, with concerts, permanent exhibitions, surreal villages and Christmas melody.

In December 26th, 29th and 30th and January 5th and 6th, from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm, in the ancient district “Li Ficareddi” (entrance in via roma n.13) an evocative nativity scene, with a living representation of the nativity, will take place in period costume, craft shops, peasant settings and ancient crafts.

The event, organized by the cultural association “Calatafimi é”, involve about two hundred people who will create moments of great religious emotion, in the dim light of the alleys, scents of typical products and traditional Christmas melodies performed by the bagpipers.

Ticket: €5,00 free for disabled people and children under 10 years.

This Christmas you can also visit the “Intercultural exhibition with wax statues“, via Mazzini 32/34; and the Arab-style nativity scene will be presented to the public for the first time with dioramas about Jesus Christ’s life at the “Church of the Virgin of the Rescue”.

Another interesting exhibition, “La Vita di Cristo“, will be presented inside the Church of the Purgatory.

Along the streets, the association “Nuovo Club Fiat 500” presents for the eighth edition cribs made on board Fiat 500.

The Pro Loco association presents this year the IX Edition of the “Nativity in Family” enriched by “Christmas in the districts” project now at its fourth edition which every year has a great success.

Thanks to the industriousness of this association you can look up to the beautiful Christmas Tree-Nativity which has been exhibited in piazzetta Beato Arcangelo and made of purely handcraft materials;

You can also enjoy the Obelisk decorated in Christmas theme and the streets of the historical centre embellished with different natural and handmade decorations for the fourth consecutive year.

Last events: January 5-6-7 from 17 to 22 the magic of Christmas continues in Calatafimi Segesta.

January 6^th and 7^th the Christmas program will be enriched with many other events.

The Nativity at “Li Ficareddi” is going to host the Magi on 6^th and 7^th; while Befana will visit not only the Santa Claus village inside Eufemio Castle but also the event “The Befana comes at night … “at Piazzetta Beato Arcangelo at the stop “Trenino degli Elfi”.
